UN Sets Global Broadband Targets

The UN has called on all countries to have nation broadband strategies in place by 2015.  At the time, the UN would like to see 60% of people living in the developed world and 50% of people living in developing countries online.  The UN would also like to see internet access available to 40% of households in the developing world and stressed that  broadband services should be affordable for  all, costing less than 5% of one’s monthly expenses.
